Robert Heron
Robert is a lifelong technologist who credits games (electronic, board, and variants) as the nurturing force behind his foray into personal computers. One of his fondest memories is how he almost failed to graduate from high school after unleashing a malicious program (known today as a virus) he had crafted on the school's then state-of-the-art PC network - a dozen or so Radio Shack TRS-80s that shared a "massive" 5MB hard drive. When he's not busy managing PC Magazine's HDTV lab or hosting the weekly online show DL.TV, Robert enjoys traveling to warm locales and sampling the local delights.

Shouldn't one say "graduate from high school" rather than "graduate high school" in order to be grammatically correct?

You guys are great. Pat was really great as well, when he was here. I watched the show twice a week and try to watch it live whenever I find time. Since now the show is only once a week, I kinda miss it. If you can, bring back Tuesday. Hope the show still going strong.

I made discovery of your podcasts just over a year ago, when I was sitting around, and just learned about iTunes, and podcasts. I decided to see what was available in the computer/tech area, and there you appeared, alongside with Leo Laporte who, I really missed since the tech tv days. I was so grateful to find both of you. I now have every podcast that you have produced, and I always look for to downloading the latest podcast. During my viewing your podcasts, I now have discovered another great show, Cranky Geeks, another fun podcast, I have downloaded the full episodes of this show.
I love your show at DL.TV, please keep them coming, I am always looking forward to more Geeky/Tech topics.

November 7, 2007 12:15 AM

According to Wikipedia (not the most reliable source) on Patrick: He announced on August 2, 2007 that he will no longer be the host of DL.TV in favor of a new job and a chance to be with his wife who was due to give birth to their first child in mid October 2007. His last appearance as the host of DL.TV was episode 188. Norton has confirmed that he is now employed by the IPTV company Revision 3, (he confirmed this on the This Week in Tech podcast, episode 110 for August 20, 2007

Roger!! You just took over and you're leaving. How dare you (just kidding). Good luck where ever you go. Everyone is leaving Robert alone to man the ship, but he can handle it. He is ROBERT HERON. Hear him squeal, (lol).

Good Luck, Roger. Hold down the tech, Robert.

I am watching the podcast on my Apple TV on a 42" Panasonic plasma (as I have been for at least six months) - as Robert proceeds to diss the Apple TV because "he already has too much content and will never buy one".

oops.

Apple TV is your show's friend, dude.

HI Robert..

I just got my Mac Air, 3 weeks ago... It's great for meetings.. it's the perfect machine..

Combined the Mac Air with the following Software: Wire Tap, Snap Pro, Illustrator + Photoshop, Office 2008 and Toast 9, it the perfect system for the meetings..( use Wire Tap to record the meeting -audio, while I type my notes)

When I get HOME, I connect to my Apple Wireless (BT) key board, my MS Presenter Mouse 8000,

Ha, only one USB.. that's OK, I connect that ONE port to my MiniStack 3 ( I put a 750 Gig inside), the MiniStack 3 give me ( Via the USB Connection) 3 USB + 2 Fire wire 800 + 1 Firewire 400, and a SATA connection... it's great and works Great with Time Machine for my BackUp.

MiniStack 3 is from Other World Computing (OWC.com)...

I also miss Tech TV.
I believe I watched more than any show on cable.

And when tech tv changed its format!.
They lost me as a fan.
I liked the old tech tv, still miss everyone.

Wish the old gang would come back on!. "Joost TV."
I know has many open slots.

How about re starting Tech TV for all your displaced fans, who still love the gang @ tech tv.

Robert Heron, On a old dl.tv show you said you like your album art! Is there a website where you go to get great looking album artwork, becuase most sites / downloads are poor quality. Or what size do I look for that yields the best quality.
Thanks
Bill

Scott Asnault should not be on DL.TV. It was difficult for me to watch the whole episode #253. I felt like I was watching one of the people I support on computers get on a tv show and try to talk like they know something about computers. Grrrrr.

In HDTV reviews I'd like to see more mention made of viewing angle, both horizontal and vertical.

My first LCD HDTV has a vertical viewing angle of about 5 degrees! I'm sorry I bought it. My 2nd LCD HDTV is better but still not very good.
