Looking for a better DVD for your HDTV? Check out Samsung's Hi-Def Conversion DVD players, the DVD-HD850 and DVD-HD950. Both offer HDMI output and support 480P/720P/1080I, and the 950 adds SACD and DVD Audio. The 850 sells for $150, the 950 typically sells for $250. You can also check out V Inc.'s (VIZIO) "Bravo" series of upconverting players; they offer great image quality, but are sold out in most channels. Robert adds that he's seeing some 1080p upconverting DVD players out there from NeuNeo (via component), Denon (5910 w/firmware update), OPPO Digital's OPDV971H DVI DVD, and the uber-expensive CDP-300 ($6500) from Classe Audio. If you can wait till next year, most everyone will be doing 1080p according to Robert.

Jim Louderback joined us on the seventh episode of DL.TV and brought in some inexpensive, but not necessarily cheap, DVD players. Later, Jason Cross gave us the story on ATI's new Crossfire cards, and Dan Hsu from Electronic Gaming Monthly compared the Sony PSP with the Nintendo DS. Patrick Norton and Robert Heron hosted.
