Looking for a better DVD for your HDTV? Check out Samsung's Hi-Def Conversion DVD players, the DVD-HD850 and DVD-HD950. Both offer HDMI output and support 480P/720P/1080I, and the 950 adds SACD and DVD Audio. The 850 sells for $150, the 950 typically sells for $250. You can also check out V Inc.'s (VIZIO) "Bravo" series of upconverting players; they offer great image quality, but are sold out in most channels. Robert adds that he's seeing some 1080p upconverting DVD players out there from NeuNeo (via component), Denon (5910 w/firmware update), OPPO Digital's OPDV971H DVI DVD, and the uber-expensive CDP-300 ($6500) from Classe Audio. If you can wait till next year, most everyone will be doing 1080p according to Robert.
