Watched all episodes and many many SS's before, catched this one live (for the first time!!!). As always great performance :D.
I hoped to see live HD-DVD presentation today with Robert drooling all over it ^_^, guess maby next time :-(.
I wish I could see all you DLTV creators some day :-) not only those two nuckleheads and weird'o guests in front of the camera ^_-... Maby it's time for a special episode? :-]

I decided to use SDP today because I don't want to deal with the usual stream problems and I don't want to wait till tomorrow to catch the show. It seemed to have worked well but I haven't watched the show yet.

I was busy moving my desk from downstairs to my room so I had to miss the show. I'm sad, but I'm sure it will be good once I get the download tomorrow.

You can install/mess with LInux (distrowatch.com) and play around with light server-like duties (serve web pages for example - for learning purposes). Use it for a light backup machine using MS SyncToy or "Second Copy", then you can keep the book off-site between syncs and have a true backup option. Have fun and learn or donate it and book a tax deduction.

I watched the entire show. Then it was gone. I felt someone was short changed. That someone was us.
What's up with Robert's behavior in this episode. I was thinking he was on too much diet Coke. Robert, "buddy" tone it down a notch. Listen to Pat before embarking on a voyage or topic that runs awry.
Also, let's get some show notes out a couple of hours before the show. Crap! It look like someone splattered the notes minutes before air time. Allow some input into the process from DL.TV fans.
I am hopefully for more content for show 58.
Kudos to all the staff for producing the show.
Regards

VLC can't decode wmv3 video (aka Windows Media Video 9) on Linux. Install mplayer with the binary codecs to watch the stream.

MPlayer can do the same thing on every major OS.
mplayer -dumpstream -dumpfile dl.tv-live.wmv "stream_url"

Is it just me or does the link for the AMEX issue go to the page for the DARPA challenge?

Does anyone else just get more unclear on what might be a good HDTV purchase every time these guys open their mouth about it? Could Robert possibly use more words to talk about HDTV without really clarifying anything? I love the little mumbled voice contradicting everything just said for the past 5 mins. Can HDTV really catch hold in the US with this clear as mud technology? Can it catch hold when these tv's and monitors are a quality crapshoot?
Here's an idea how about Robert creates a list of 3 recommendations every week for low, med, and high priced units. When a unit is worthy it replaces one on the list.

Robert mentioned the PBS program on last years DARPA challenge. PBS offers the videos online for free:
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/darpa/program.html
It's not in High-Definition, but good programming is good programming and should bring everyone up to speed for this years challenge.

Keep up the good wory guys ... but :-(
The last pod cast I downloaded, while it played I could not use my mouse to rewind or FF. This appears to be a new "feature" that you have introduced in your podcasts so we have to watch the dam ads.
Is this true, are you now forcing us to watch those ads so you can pay the bills. ?
Or have I changed some setting in itunes that would cause this.
I am fortunate in that I live in Australia where we have the ABC (www.abc.net.au) that carries no ads.

I've never heard of that Paul, what format and player are you using? And for the love of Pete, don't let the MPAA find out about this format.

Hey Robert! I can get the H.264 version of DL.TV to run on my Treo 650 with TCPMP. The video frame rate is awful but the audio is flawless! Amazed?
