June 20, 2006 7:46 PM

I can remember on TheScreenSavers the first time they had someone come on there using a shuttle box as his LAN gaming box. I believe they said back then that shuttles were originally just used as servers in small companies and were being phased out.
So it's funny how an idea that was used for business that was being phased out, it took gamers and even modders to bring it back from the dead and make it something so many want.

I moved the window over to my second monitor, 17", and told WMP to use full screen.
It's how I've usually viewed the videos I downloaded.

Might not look as great as viewing in it's native size but I get that "watching TV" feel. And I don't notice it looking all that bad, more like a lacking arial TV signal.

June 21, 2006 2:42 PM

err...now it works as normal...strange. I can only think either there was a mistake with posting the video or the download hadn't finished when I tried to watch it.
BTW I'm not entering into a mac vs pc argument, Robert.

Doods,

Why was the download of Episode 71 so jaggy? Roger C hittin' the sauce again?

I don't know if Robert know this, but if you buy an album on iTunes it comes out to less than 99 cents per song. I still think it's ripoff (even though I do buy).

Backpacks are great! The only way to go. Been suing one forever. Went the briefcase route for awhile but not as good. Been using a backpack for business now for over 15 years (and I've been in mgmt consulting and financial services, not just a gear head!).

The best one I've found and reasonably priced (under US$60 if you search) is one from the Swiss Army guys, Wenger (Robert, this is the one to get). Load of padding, compartments galore. Great handles gto carry, vented back, etc. The features are endless. Above all, it stand up on its own! Just a great design (Synergy Computer Backpack).

check it out...

Thanks for the backpack reviews! Just like Robert, I've been looking for a good backpack for a while now so this ep gave me some good pointers and ideas what to look for.

Great show as usual, keep up the good work!

In Windows XP, I've had fairly regular issues logging into an account (without fast user switch enabled) using standard USB keyboards. The issue can come up sometimes whenever I do Windows updates or similar functions. It appears to have some kind of conflict. It clears up when moving the usb cable to a different USB port, or log in with a PS2 keyboard, then delete and reinstall the standard USB driver. Any advice, and how would this effect use of the Shuttle? I REALLY liked the look of it.

just thought i'd recommend the Halo messenger Bag made by Ogio. it's awesome. the coolest thing is the opening for laptop is not under the flap, but zipped top of bag with flap in front. i could go on, but C for URself. i'm sure Ogio has one on their site w/o the halo stuff on it. Highly rec.. Happy B-day to my fellow crabman..

PCI-X and PCI-Express are not the same thing. I noticed that Patrick referred to the PCI Express slot in the shuttle as PCI-X more than once.

I've looked high and low for your 'Editors Choice' bag, (drool, drool),but it's not here in Japan and no one online ships to here. I'd be willing to pay someone via paypal/U.S. check the cost of the bag plus shipping, plus $20 for effort to get one to me. (I want the 'Stealth Black' one. You can contact me via bag-X-chrisbaker-Y-org if you can help. (Change -X- to @ and -Y- to .)
