How long before Terabyte hard drives, increasing areal density with heat, and a whole lot more: Patrick sat down w/ Brian Dexheimer, an Executive VP from Seagate, to quiz the biggest company in hard drives about what's coming down the pike, the purchase of Maxtor, how long term research is crucial for maintaining an edge, and whole lot more.
We showed a short version of the inteview in Ep 79. This is the whole 15 minute enchilada, pretty much as the cameras captured it. You asked for it, here it is.
how about thursdays show, we saw the best parts of the interview not that long ago

I'm plugged into my router right now and streams don't work so great with it in.

Eh, I don't have flash installed to avoid all of those extremely annoying ads. So gimme a downloadable version, wmv, mpg, h264, whatever just NO FLASH!
Thanks.

I also don't have yucky flash installed. In order to view this video, I had to do lots of research and install a modified frontend.swf to eventually get the url to cpature this video. Why make it so hard for us?

You can get the address for the seagate video but it can't be recorded because it is streamed using macromedia's proprietary RTMP protocol, for which there are no stream recorders. This protocol is progressive, so there isn't a copy cached to the local machine. Which means every time you watch it, is has to be streamed again. So if every person watches it twice, that doubles ziff davis' bandwidth bill but if they had just provided a download link they wouldn't get stiffed for the bandwidth for every time someone watches this video again. The DL.TV people don't even seem to be willing to acknowledge our request for a downloadable version.
