What's new in Episode 101
STUFF
• Really. No HDMI for the Xbox 360. We've got the word from Microsoft.
• Dell sent Chris' battery replacement. Can he keep the "defective" battery and use the new one as a spare? What's the chances of HIS laptop battery exploding?
• Neil asks, "Will you put out a DVD set?"
• Sorenson Squeeze giving you fits, David? We're not surprised. All the 'low cost' sub-$600 prosumer video compression tools have issues.
• BTW, if you email us, we can get you free tickets to DigitalLife! Put 'free DigitalLife tickets' in the subject line!
NEWS
MORE STUFF
• We had a hefty respone from the DL.TV Crew when we asked how you email huge files. We'll go over your responses on next Tuesday's show.
• We've got an interview coming up with folks from Mozilla (the Firefox folks). Email us with questions you'd like us to ask them!.

This is why there isn't a huge rush from the broadcasters to start streaming on the Internet. The tubes are clogged and we don't see any trucks in sight.
P.S. Thank you Senator Stevens for giving us so much material to work with.

Governments should make ISP's more accountable and class web access along with electricity and gas, bitch-slapping the industry into investment rather than profit.
First order of business? Unconditional Multicast. It would solve all streaming problems.

Hey Guys!
I vuss vundering if anyone knows of the best Micro ATX gaming motherboard for Core 2's? I know Gigabyte's got the GA-965GM-S2 that has an ICH8 chipset, but no overclockability. Asus's PL5D2 is over a year old with the 945G/P chipsets.
The reason I ask is because I just bought a Lian Li PC-V300B SFF case which fits Micro ATX boards. It'll be sweet after I get the thing modded up a bit. :) (doesn't take full length videocards without cutting a notch in the drivecage that goes from side to side aside from that its awesome!)
see a review of it here:
http://www.boxgods.com/dept/htpc-sff/index.php?Action=Article&ID=212
I wish I had known there was a Revision 3 to the Silverstone SG01 called "Evolution" I probably would have forgone the Lian-Li.
see a review of it here:
http://www.hardware-review.net/html/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=1052
These are great cases for HTPC's or gaming rigs!
Thanks!

Allright, why don't you guys upload the movie files that you do render out as they get done? WMA and QuickTime first, then the rest come later. Hell, you can't distribute compute the encode? I'd be really nice to have to come later and see what the show is about before the 24 hour mark hits.

Hey you guys forgot to fix the aspect ratio (at least on the H.264 version), it is 720x480 which is great for a TV but for all of us using square pixel monitors 99.9% everyone looks steched and fat.
Lucky for me I have VLC on hand so I could fix that, but I prefer to view it in quicktime.
I will let it slide this time, but that is just because I love your show so much.

Patrick,
2nd chance is where you offer the item at the price that person bid. Not a higher price. So if the item sold for $10 and the person you're offering a 2nd chance offer to bid $9, he would get the item for $9.

Anyone else decide to try the cut-out antenna trick? I've got a Linksys wireless router on the other side of my house and a wireless access point connecting to it. I made 3 of the little antennas and tried my best to line things up. My signal strength actually dropped from low 90% to around 70%-80%. Am I doing something wrong or is this hack nothing more than the rumor you get better signal by putting aluminum foil over your TV antennas?

One more comment on eBay second chance... This was great tool for me on two occasions when the winning bidder for my item turned out to be a scammer (both times similar scam attempting to get the item to the foreign location without paying first). As another comment points, next highest bidder is offered such item for the price he bid on it. This saves the time/effort of re-listing etc. Good feature in my opinion. (As for scam proportion, alltogether I sold 10 items on eBay and two of them ended being affected by scammers, rescued though... On purchase side I purchased 9 items there and haven't been affected by any scams in that direction (yet?)).

I made a windsurfer for my D-link DI-624 (rev C). What an improvement! It has to be pointed just right, but out family computer downstairs kept on getting a dropped connection and after installing, Im getting a very good connection and way faster transfer speeds. Thanks so much guys!

I tried the windsurfer antenna and i think i even lost a little signal from it. I have a question though, do you have to use it on the router or can you also use it on the wirless card that connects to the router.
