STUFF
• We've got forums! Thanks to Jim over at ExtremeTech.com for setting up forums for us. Just click on the Forums tab on ExtremeTech.com and scroll to the bottom of the page. Please let us know what additional forum sections you'd like!
• Chris is looking for older DL.TV episodes: We've got 'em all on the Archive page. (Look in the Navigate section.) Having that and an 'Episodes' section is a tad confusing, isn't it? Urg.
• Worried about Bully? Don't. 1UP's Scott Sharkey tells us why this PS2 game scored 10 out of a possible 10, and really is teen friendly.
• Jim wants a hard drive recovery recco. How about Forensic Strategy Services, since the founder, Scott Moulton, was kind enough to share some good info on DIY drive recovery in Ep. 105? Another popular option is DriveSavers.
• IE7: Why did I do that? Mark, a new Firefox users, chimes in on the woes of 65 vertical pixels lost.
• Vidabox: Superior PCs for the home theater? The totally silent Zero is one of the coolest cases we've seen, David, but they're deffo expensive.
• $485 stereo knobs for better audio quality? Interesting idea, Edward.

Downloading at 1500KB/s now. 1.5megs a second for the win!

Bully is awesome, not because of the game, because its free speech and we can kick the nuts of those idiots who want to take free speech away from us.

You cover interesting stuff. Thankfully, my eyesight softens to a blur and I can't hear so well from so many concerts "back in the day". So, while I am interested, I can also save money. $400+ dollars for knobs? I'd pay that for (uh, I guess you'd edit that out) but not for the knobs that go on equipment....

You guys mentioned that someone would come along to take Lik-Sang's place. It should be noted that Play Asia has been around for years as their prime competitor and offer similar quality service and selection.

http://www.play-asia.com/

Maybe if we're lucky, Sony wont kill them off too.

Umm why do you guys love DRM so much?

Incase you're wondering DVD Jon DOES live in San francisco, and before that he lived In San Diego!

So..yes..his company is here in the USA.

And you guys forgot one thing..his companies software will ADD drm. Yes, that's right, legal genius. By adding his own DRM it will be able to let you use apple songs on other devices.

So yes, its based in the USA, and no he will not be sued.

I would also recomend http://www.play-asia.com as your Import game source.
They also give you stickers and coupons with each order.

Last show I had posted a comment complaining about the audio levels of recent shows being all over the place. Just watched the flash version and I have to say this was the best audio levels I've heard in a long time. Consistent as a swiss watch from start to finish - pre-recorded segments and commercials were just perfect!. I think I heard Patrick refer to "Nick" as the audio guy - well Nick, a big thumbs up from me - outstanding job! Thanks for listening.

I have not watched the show yet other then the live "choppy" feed. So I can't say how the audio worked out. As I don't remember how it did on the live feed. However if the setup is as I think it is the poor audio guy has no control over the commercials volume, unfortunately. It's very likely run off the Tricaster. That kind of setup brakes usual professional setup configurations, and in cases like this, makes the job (audio) more difficult to produce a professional job.

Here is another example. The black level (crush) of the "taped" video tends to be a bit high compared to camera output. And don't get me started on camera shading. Shading is the job of making all the cameras match. So Patrick looks the same on cameras 1 and 3, for example. It is OK, but not great. But then they don't have someone shading the cameras or even a CCU (Camera Control Unit). I understand, that's $MONEY$.

The concept of getting a whole studio in one box baffles me.

Hi Guys!
Can't view your show at work anymore, not sure why.
The IT overlords have spoken and their restrictions are unchallengeable. I'd hope it wasn't because of the Men's washroom scene from that Family Guy game in the last ep's review ;)

Anyway, I found a unique keyboard that's neither QWERTY nor DVORAK. It's called the "New Standard" keyboard. Here is a link to it:
http://www.enablemart.com/productdetail.aspx?store=10&pid=1671&dept=22

The keys are arranged in alphabetical order. Quite a departure from either of the two most popular standards! What do you all think?

One other recovery software that should be noted is PC Inspectore File Recovery. The makers have a smart card version of the software along with some other nice programs. Had pci for many years and it had saved me a few times. The programs are freeware as well.

another great show, guys. very funny from the start. I don-t mind speedo-jokes.

another tip for Data-Recovery: Goto bookshelf: take the Backup-CD from yesterdays backup. Copy data to /home-directory of your newly installed, functional hdd. Finished.

What? you don-t do daily (incremental) Backups automatically? Lazy?

Why the 5 minute extra LOGO at the end of the flash feed?

I've been watching bluray movies in full 1080p on my PC for about a month now with PowerDVD 6.6. If a HD-DVD drive was available for purchase then I could play those too.

Full rez PC playback is a reality. Even for self-built systems like mine.

Did you guys turn off the ipod video RSS feed or move it to apple's website? I can't get it on my PSP right now. It keeps saying Connection to the server timed out. This was my main way of watching DL.TV. Please turn the feed back on if you can. Thanks. :)

Roberts questionable comments are why this is the favorite gay tech podcast on the net and he is our favorite San Francisco treat!!

We are no longer the knights who say ni!
We are now the knights who say ekki-ekki-ekki-pitang-zoom-boing!

Just wanted to say that I totally agree with Patrick on the Paradigm Atoms. Amazing sounding speakers for the money. Robert, other ones to check out...B&W, Energy, NHT. I've heard Patrick say he was an ex-audiophile...I wonder what he's running in his system now. I just hope it's not bose!
