Tell Patrick I am still waiting to see if he has found a place to purchase the toner for the Dell 1100 printer. Because of his recommendation I purchased one. I am hoping he found a place to buy the toner a little cheaper than what Dell sells it for. I watch the show all the time.
Thanks in advance.

Hey Lyle
according to a quick web search, The Dell 1100 is basically toner-compatible with the Samsung ML-1610, and any toner vendor worth its salt will carry 1610 cartridges.

What? No shilling for Sirius Satellite Radio? Norton has been doing this every week. Are they paying you Norton, because you have to realize that the other company has better hardware, and has for a much longer time. Your reviews objective? Yeah right.

RE: H.264 and older machines.
My old 1.25GHz eMac runs the H.264 version with no problems.
What it does have problems with is the HD 1080p version of MacBreak. It totally chokes on it. I guess I should read more closely before clicking the subscribe link. ;^)

HD DVD for $200?
Yes, and it's bee-u-tiful.
I hope you guys show everyone an in depth review, because it's needed so people know what hardware to purchase for HD-DVD/BR support. (HDCP, etc.)
Plus the Toshiba drivers that need to be installed.

Just watched the show and I think you were a little unfair about the time to get camcorder data into the computer. What you said is correct if the media is tape. But, as you know, many camcorders now have hard drives or flash cards for media storage. The flash card version you pop out of the camera and into a card reader and presto it looks like a drive. Likewise with the camcorders that have the hard drives - connected it and it appears as ... a drive. so the answer of 8 minutes could very well be true. but who knows ---
g'day and kindest,

Rearly,
Are you kidding? I talked about satellite radio for maybe 2 minutes on the holiday shopping guide. At that time I talked about both XM and Sirius, and held up the Sirius unit I bought for $50 before I went to mexico cause... I like their alternachannels a bit better than XM. And I pointed out that XM had offerings at the same price. It wasn't a full review, just letting folks know how cheap XM and Sirius hardware has gotten. When else have I ever talked about Sirius?

bobSam,
Not sure if we made it clear enought on the show, but we were talking about capturing video from MiniDV camcorders. There are definately hard drive based camcorders on the market, but they're still the minority. Would love to see what the transfer time is from one of those... and how the video quality stacks up.

Robert you were wondering.
I'd like to mention that PowerDVD 6.5 HD-DVD can play back HD content right now, you don't have to wait until PowerDVD or WinDVD come out in mid December.
There are a few software bugs, but nothing from stopping anyone from playing back the content at full quialty.
But you can only find it in OEM right now. No torrents exist.

I'm just a lowly playback operator here at a local news department yet I overhear talk of P2 camera's that are suppose to record to harddrives. I don't know anything about them and I doubt they are a consumer product but try and look into them. Great show by the way.

Has anyone else looked at GigaSize's privacy policy? It doesn't say whether they share their users' personal information with third parties, but it is sure to require those users to keep that information up-to-date. Also, they repeatedly reserve the right to share any uploaded content with law enforcement (presumably without a warrant).

yea guys you are right the H.264 version of the show is a bit crispier compared to the divx version i normally download...i always downloaded the divx cause i either watched on my desktop when i missed the live show and knew it was compatible with my Xbox Media Center running on my XBOX 1, but it turns out my great Xbox 1 running at a BLAZING 733MHZ with 64MB of ram running Xbox Media Center (latest build of course) runs H.264 perfectly smooth i will now be downloading the show in this format :)

I believe that Microsoft's X-Box HD-DVD drive with the drives and the WinDVD 8 software will be the nail in the coffin for Blue Ray. Think about about it with millions of Windows Xp machines already out and the low price of the drive. Blue Ray is built into the PS3 not external drive to do the same with as X-Box 360 drive. Microsoft knew exactly what they were doing and I think it will pay off. I don't even own a X-box 360 but I will be buying the drive.

please put the mpeg 4 version back, a small minority use it but we need it for our older machines which cannot play back the more intensive codecs and higher resolution versions.
i don't want to have to stop watching this show.

I was an mpeg4 downloader too. I can play just about any format, especially many exotic ones, except the h264 mov videos. Looks like the QT decompressor in version 7 of QT isn't compatible with win9x
Divx version look good so I stick with this format

What about a Linux hack for the XBOX 360 HD-DVD player (if you have the Linux kit you could use it on the PS2) speaking of which how about hacking it for the PS3 or the Wii, or even other such USB equipped entertainment devices.

Please don't get rid of the DivX version. That's the only version my Zen Vision:M will play, or at least rework the WMV version so my Zen can play it.

The important thing to remember about offshore (from the US) or even onshore anonymizers is their lack of cooperation with Law Enforcement is a double edged sword.
Should a bad employee, or perhaps the entire company, decide to steal your information as it travels through their proxies, the perpetrator remains just as untraceable as you hoped your communication was.
Don't be fooled into thinking your data is somehow "safer" as it travels through a proxy not under your control.
