What's the weight on the new Apple tablet?

I've had a Acer tablet PC for 3 years now. The best use for the tablet is playing Spider in bed! At 6.5 lbs. it was too heavy to carry around for long.

Here's a comment from the page:

IBM ThinkPad series PGSCs are not the only laptops that have flown - or will fly in space. Computers using Mac OS and Linux have also flown as part of various payloads and are likely to continue to do so in the future. Meanwhile, the Russians will be using a Weiner Power laptop in their portion of the ISS. Other participating partners will likely bring their own laptops.

The above link has a legend with all the laptops for the fairly current STS 106 mission.

They use the 760xd and 755c

Robert is quite right, 32bit and 64bit versions of Vista come as one with the retail package. Only the OEM editions are separated.

Despite what Patrick said, the Zune isn't out yet in Europe. Thus, its copy protection isn't a problem.

Just as a side note that I did not hear on the cast, the OEM versions will not allow motherboard upgrades as the retail product will allow a motherboard change. This has been verified thru contact with microsoft.
If you are planning on upgrading sometime soon I would recommend getting retail, and no I am not affiliated with Microsoft. Just wanted to give a heads up as I was about to pickup an OEM copy myself and I am always upgrading or adding new components, the last thing I want to happen is putting in a new MB and having to reactivate, then MS telling me "Not gonna happen!"

thanks mark for the heads up. i was to gonna pick one up this week. untill i saw your post. i sure gonna get a full retail version now. :)

I still don't get why people are so eager to get bullied into this degrading MS license agreement.

"Well, I don't mind that if I change motherboards, I have to ask permission to MS, becuase vista is so cool" "The OS is more important than the computer itself"

What a load of hooey

http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/shuttle/reference/shutref/orbiter/avionics/dps/gpc.html

Five identical general-purpose computers aboard the orbiter control space shuttle vehicle systems. Each GPC is composed of two separate units, a central processor unit and an input/output processor. All five GPCs are IBM AP-101 computers. Each CPU and IOP contains a memory area for storing software and data. These memory areas are collectively referred to as the GPC's main memory.

Patrick fumbled a little bit on the comment about where he talked about the "6 mainframes". Thomas Watson from IBM is supposed to have made the comment "I think there is a world market for maybe five computers". However, there is no real evidence that he actually made such s statement [1].

The actual short sighted comment came from Ken Olsen of Digital Equipment Corp. in 1977, who said "There is no reason for any individual to have a computer in his home." [2]

XP OEM 3 packs have been available forever without bundled hardware.
About a year ago unbundled single packs became available OEM. Per copy price is slightly higher on the single packs.

The conviction with which Patrick wanted to get across that he thought the OEM and retail versions were identical was brilliant.

BEST FIREWALL??? Speaking about firewalls without even mentioning Zone Alarm should not be allowed by any IT professional. Comodo sure is a better firewall due to better resource management but its not as stabile as it comes with a set of bugs that Zone Alarm has worked out long time ago. Give it another year or so and CPF will be just as robust. At least make a comparison to Zone Alarm when mentioning other solutions since most users relate back to what used to be the only free firewall solution out there.

Keep up the good job.
