If you guys want a cheap and a great Upscaling DVD Player that will also play Divx, get the Philips DVP 5960. I have it and I love it. I am not sure how much it is now, because I bought it about a month ago. But I remember that it was cheap. You should check out some auctions on eBay for cheaper deals.

Hey guys. Keep up the good work.

I just wanted to give a note to Mr. Robert Heron. A few episodes ago you commented about how Windows Media Player (version 10, I do believe) automatically ejects CDs after ripping, and if another disc is inserted it automatically begins to rip that disc too.

This feature is available in a number of other CD ripping programs. Off the top of my head, a great Free one is Grip, which runs on most UNIX-like OS's (including Ubuntu Linux). And unlike WMP, Grip can rip using a wide range of encoders into formats such as MP3, Ogg, and FLAC.

Some others to consider for music ripping include XCDRoast (great for low-end systems) and CDex.

I really like CDex best for ripping music under Windows. It's fast, efficient, rips to MP2/MP3/Ogg/WMA/AAC/APE/VQF/WAV, and runs on Windows 95 or newer, so it is essentially guaranteed to work for anyone interested in putting her music collection into a digital form.

Whats up with that screen wall thing infront of the table? Someone not wearing pants or something?

Another good show! - Is the ugly screen a effort to reduce filesize (if so how does it work?) - or is it to match the ugly background(!) - or about Roger's legs that scary?

@lex: your thoughtful and insightful commentary on upscaling dvd players has made me rethink my position on the technical benefits of the product! I will now mindlessly hate it for no other reason than that you do as well. :D

::giggle:: Great show, guys.

Also...

I don't think you guys are that much older than me, so I was a little surprised to hear Roger say that he used the TRS-80 in school. Perhaps he meant elementary school?

My first computer was a TRS-80 Color Computer (v. 1, grey model with the chicklet keys). I remember doing the stupidest things in BASIC and LOGO, and thinking I'd written the greatest programs in the world. Mmmm... tape storage and playing ROM catridges of games like "Dungeons of Daggeroth." My father was also friends with Lonnie Falk, the man who published "Rainbow," the popular TRS-80 Color Computer magazine (Lonnie went on to be mayor of Prospect, KY)

A few years back I got nostalgic and picked up a few Color Computers on eBay. Great memories, except that I can't get the cassette control cable, or possibly the cassette deck itself, to work, so I've shied away from writing the New Greatest Text-Based Adventure.

Anyway, thanks for the trip down memory lane. You guys should do a segment on the (what appears to be) fairly active CoCo subculture... when i bought those TRS-80s off of eBay, I found quite a few websites devoted to this computer. I seem to recall various hacks, including the ability to use a hard disk drive with the CoCo.

I don't think Robert was out getting his eyes lasered. I think he was tied up below the desk, behind that wall. Hopefully Patrick will release him by Thursday and the annoying wall will no longer be needed.

Yeah, I have to comment on that too- what was with the wall?

Anyways, thanks DL.TV crew for giving me my "toasty tube-action" for the day!

Hey guys... in addition to looking at the screen which seemed a little weird, there was a lot of computer fan noise in the background. It was a little distracting. Is it because the screen was forcing the noise back at you?

Anymore on the ComboDock? Seemed interesting.
