STUFF
• Your favorite net metering and bandwidth monitoring tools? You suggested DU Meter, $19.95 and
NetMeter. They're mucho similar, and either one will give you an alarm before you exceed your monthly bandwidth allocation!
• Robert's in love with the latest update for the PS3, which includes Folding@Home... it's not just a gaming console and a fine Blu-ray player, it's a tool to better humanity's lot by fighting disease. Seriously. It's all about protein folding, misfolding, and related diseases. And some other improvements to the PS3 we'll talk about later. (Those deets are on the PS3 v1.6 update page
• Is a Core 2 Duo e6600 based PC enough to play back Blu-ray and HD DVD disks? We think so, Quincy. Just remember that you'll need Blu-ray and HD DVD drives. They're a tad pricey right now. (You'll need playback software, too!)
• Finding Robert's Geiger Counter Ringtone... Jose has a great site, FindSounds.com, for finding any kind 'o sound.
• "My child's been downloading a lot of movies... on P2P 'n torrent sites..." how much trouble is "Sleepless in the US" really in if the MPAA comes a knocking? Well, it depends SITUS, on how many movies he's left uploading for days on your home PC.
NEWS
• FCC Launches Inquiry into ISPs to see if they're "restricting access to websites, favoring some sites over others, and if consumers are being affected.
ON THURSDAY'S SHOW
• Monitoring bandwidth on your router by going Linux! Will Patrick rattle can his notebook? And, of course... your questions.

Guys I love the show. I just started watching about a month ago as I found that Pat was working here so now I watch every Tuesday and Thursday. I was a big fan of TechTV and The Screen Savers. I hate G4.
Good luck guys and keep doing a great job. It is nice to watch, my dad and myself watch it together, he has Stage III Lung Cancer, and when he watches it it makes him smile as he remembers The Screen Savers. It gets his mind off of others things. Thank you all.

wow, since we are including payed programs also how in the world did all u guys overlook NetLimiter 2 Pro? it is way way way better than any of the tools mentioned so far. it doesnt just monitor/log overall network activity. it does it for every single program as well & most importantly even allows u to put up/down caps on everything. this is just the tip of the iceberg, i dont have enough space to go into everything else it does

I signed up for your Folding@Home team. Since I started running the program on my laptop, the cooling fan hasn't slowed down. When I pause it, it slows, and when I resume it starts up again. Are you sure it is a good thing to run it all the time?
Thanks

regarding other people picking up stuff that obviously isn't theirs at airports:
A couple years ago I had an old bright red Sampsonite hard-shell suitcase that I had bought from a Salvation Army. It had two stripes of florescent yellow tape on each side and a rainbow colored luggage strap to keep it closed. Needless to say it was very distinct. However, that didn't keep someone from picking it up off of the luggage carousel and checking the tag on it to see if it was theirs. As I walked over to her she put it back down and her own suitcase, a dark red soft-shelled suitcase without tape or a luggage strap on it came down the shoot.
Some people are just morons.

Its fine to run on your laptop, the only real thing people have to worry about is over heating.
You can turn the F@H down from using 100percent of your CPU in the console. It runs at a loser pritorty so it shouldnt slow your computer use.

Kiwi!
Patrick, yes it was cute... until you realize the poor furry creature goes splat at the end.
Sad, very very sad.
