What's new in Episode 153
STUFF
• We couldn't bribe the folks at Tesla Motors to let Roger take a spin at the wheel of the Tesla Roadster... but they did let him shoot video of the electric powered supercar that Cade 'test drove' for PCMag.. Hint: he wants one if somebody else will pick up the tab.
• High end CRT monitors for Graphics Pros? Most of 'em we know use LCD panels, Cjay. CRT's bigger than 21 inches with computer resolutions are hard to find. If you want the top o' the line, think $2000-$6000 10-16 bit perfectly back lit monsters such as Eizo's ColorEdge series, Sony's Luma, NEC's Professional MultiSync. Heck, Apple's Cinema Displays are common, but kind of low end for this crowd. (They look pretty good to us, tho.)
• Wow... ShinyHappyPonies.com sold fast! March 30th, in fact. (Thanks for using GoDaddy... hope you used the DLTV code!)
• Notebooks, camcorders and other consumer electronics vs. luggage handlers: Jonnie wants to know if he should carry his Pelican 1520 on the plane, or if it'll be safe in the hold. Patrick would put biohazard stickers on it if it goes in the hold (and pull the expensive camera out first).
• After 10 years of loyal use, Joey's giving up on Winamp and wants to know what the best MP3 player software available is. Email your faves dl.tv@ziffdavis.com and let us know why you like 'em.
NEWS
• Repeat after us: "Do not open attachments."
• Kaleidescape Wins DVD Copying Case... 'cause they leave copy protection in place when the back those DVDs to its servers. (Did I get that right, Robert?) Will this open the doors for less expensive (and legal) DVD servers for home use.
MORE STUFF
• On Thursday: Leo Laporte, o' TWiT, The ScreenSavers and oh so many more places stops by and shows off some of his favorite OS X applications, starting with the Parallels Virtual Machine running Vista.
• We've also got your suggestions for offsite online enterprise storage, Winamp alternatives for Joey, a couple of domain name scams you should avoid, the viewer pic of the week (Email dl.tv@ziffdavis.com with 'tech pic' in the subject line!) and more!
You'll Find More DL.TV on MEVIO. Check out our video channels.

I hope the 1955 doubled die cent shown isn't representative of the pennies required for recharging that tesla. That could get mighty expensive

Hey everyone!!
I posted a Desktop Tower Defense score under the team name "DL.TV" (no quotes). When you finish a game, feel free to add it to this high score list so others can see how you did it - click on a person's name on the high score list and it shows you the tower layout they ended up with.

Hey, thanks for introducing me to Desktop Tower Defense, now I am even less productive. =)
BTW, I am still using Winamp, have tried others and always return to it. Hate iTunes and MediaPlayer.
Great show, I watch it in Toluca, Mexico.

Where's the love for MusikCube? FooBar2000 is really great, but MusikCube should get a mention on the next episode. It's a good substitute for iTunes or WinAmp.

Funny that Patrick didn't know that Oldversion.com exists. I found that website by watching The Screen Savers a few years ago.
