VLC Media Player supports internet streaming. It, of course, supports .wmv.

You can use Mplayer with the Mozilla/Firefox mplayer plug-in to play the live stream on linux.

Don't forget Xine/Kaffeine for playing back the live or recorded versions of the show.
The important thing to note is that all of the previously listed programs, including Xine/Kaffeine, use the W32 codec for playback. Yes, that is a bit of a gray area from a U.S. legal standpoint but, that's how it's done.
If your distribution does not already play the .wmv or .mov formats then Google your distribution, preferred player and the desired codec for copious instructions on enabling that type of playback in your distribution.

Hi guys!
I'm watching your show regularly, using Windows-XP or Linux-Debian v.4. I'm using mplayer and the Moziila-mplayer plugin in Linux. This plugin supports both Quicktime and Windows Media player streaming, and they both work flawlessly. I'm really impressed by the quality, especially regarding the Quicktime plugin which seems to be working even better in Linux than in windows, especially when it comes to watching DLTV. - May be I should credit you on this instead of Mozilla?
To make it work was quite easy, by using one of the distros installation tools. One thing to keep in mind though: installing the mozilla-mplayer plugin places the files in a directory called /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins. Depending on the Linux distro and which browser is set as default, it may be necessary to copy these files to another location. I'm using Firefox and had to copy the files to /usr/lib/firefox/plugins.
Since I'm using the KDE desktop system with linux I've also tested this plugin with Konqueror, a built in browser, and that works just as well.
By the way, my system, an ordinary desktop pc running on 2.8 Ghz CPU, 1Gb mem. and a 2Mb IN connection, includes an ATI Radeon 9600 video adapter, and and an ACER 19" LCD wide display.
Keep your show going!
Bergen, Norway.

Hey,
I am using Ubuntu Dapper Drake for watching DL.TV. I haven't tried the livestream yet, but mplayer almoust plays everything in great quality.
I am dowloading the DivX with "wget" and while it's downloading I can already start the mplayer: mplayer is able to play unfininished files
Thanks to the nice downloadrates the download is finished before mplayer reaches the end of file.
You guys are the best by the way.
Greetings from Germany,
Thomas

Is using w32codecs even questionably illegal if you have a legal copy of windows? I dont see why it would be in the grey area in this case.
Also, where's the live stream link? I'm smart enough to figure out where the recorded links are, but haven't had much luck finding the live feed.

Mega Datas to the Creative ban. Sometimes you can get better luck downloading drivers from their European sites. I feel you!
I don't share the igotry against Real. It is innocuous annoyware at worst. You can turn off all the botherations.

If you type in HD-DVD on googlefight wont it also include searches for regular DVD's? If you put Blu-Ray and HD-DVD in quotations, Blu-Ray actually beats it out.

Hey guys,
You made a reference when regarding Folding@home to a Mr. PS3. Were you refering to "PS3" which is number one on the rankings because i could not find a "Mr. PS3". If you don't change your identity when you sign up for folding@home, you will be PS3 by default. I know i personally contributed 25 Work Units before i realized that i wasn't personally being credited with work units.
Thanks!!
