STUFF
• Our apologies on the delayed posting, we're having problems with Flash video and our CDN. We'll have it up for your as quick as we can.
• HD Update: Color Temperature Is Your Friend. Robert shows you how to set color temperature correctly so video on your HDTV won't look so cold, or cool or blue. Chances are you can set it with a few clicks on your remote control. Want to learn more about what Color Temperature is? Here are examples of a warm (more yellow) and a cool (more blue) images. Chances are you'll notice it the most on skin tones.
• Viewer Tech Pic of the Week: Craig's been recycling old Pentium 3 PCs, dropping in a $20 graphics card and turning 'em into video playback boxes (DVDs and Netflix Watch Now streaming movies) for just about every room in his house. Craig, we need the model of that graphics card!
• Wireless Print Servers are really annoying when they don't work. We're going to keep hammering on the model we have in house till it works. (We got a surprising number of emails on this... thanks to Mike for emailing that it took three wireless print servers across two brands to get one that worked with his setup at home! We'll be trying some additional models.
• Can Sony's PS3 replace John's Denon 1920 upscaling DVD player? Robert says keep that upscaling DVD player! He's less than impressed with the job the PS3 does with standard DVDs. In fact, the Xbox Xbox 360's DVD playback stinks.
• Alan wants to know if the Xbox 360 Elite be any quieter than the Xbox 360. As of Noon, show time, we said 'wait till Monday... the Elite ships this weekend.' As of 9PM, we'd say, No, according to the folks at Engadget, who already have an Elite.
• Should I buy the $15 recovery disk with my new PC? It's better than nothing, Jeff, but we'd pay the extra for full install disks for your OS and other major applications. Especially since you plan do a clean re-install on your PC as soon as it arrives. More often than not, a recovery disk will do one thing: reload the stuff that shipped with your PC, exactly how the manufacturer wants it.
• You're in San Francisco and want to meet the DL.TV Crew? We're honored, Joe. Email us and let us know when you're in town and we'll try to get you in for one of our Tuesday or Thursday tapings.
NEWS
• Want a bargain price on a copy of Vista? Check A CompUSA store that's closing!
• Stolen Laptop Alert: In a strong sign that businesses should push their 'data protection policies' out to their vendors, Nieman Marcus has announced that a contractor reported a laptop lost that contained 160,000 Employees Private Info. Props to the company for springing for Equifax credit monitoring for all the employees (current and former) who's data was on the stolen computer.
• Laptop Battery Recalls are Back! This time it's Acer.. a mere 27,000 notebooks. Acer Recalls Sony batteries, a mere 27,000 Travelmate and Aspire models. Check the article for model info, or go straight to Acer's battery recall page.

The Xbox 360 Elite is just as loud as the regular 360. All the hardware is the same inside the system. 1UP mentioned this a few days ago.

I like the blue/neutral setting. Setting it to warm gives me that nasty yellow 'indoor lighting' look, blue more accurately reflects sunlight from outdoors. I couldn't care less for film standards, you should watch movies how you enjoy watching them.
