STUFF
• We got a stack of viewer responses to our original query on the nature of the Big Blue Bear located outside the Denver convention center. Denver resident, Michael, summed it up best with his email:
• "I live in Denver and the Big Blue Bear is actually always there. The bear was actually created for the convention center by Denver sculptor Lawrence Argent and it's entitled "I See What You Mean." He is 40-foot-tall and is made of mostly cast polymer concrete and fiberglass triangles. "
• You can learn more about this fascinating sculpture here.
• If you're a fan of personal computers from years past check out Old-Computers.com. From classic machines like the Apple II and Commodore 64 to less well known (at least in NA) models from Amstrad and Timex Sinclair Old-Computers.com has it all.
• Robert gives us a look at a beta of Valve's latest creation Team Fortress 2.
• Whether you're a gaming enthusiast or just looking for new PC parts you'll definitely be excited by several key technologies Intel unveiled during this year's Intel's Developer Forum.
• Loyd continues his "Build a PC" with a short discussion on hard drive and optical drive selection.
• Learn how to Slipstream Windows updates into a new install disc and save yourself the hassle of lengthy update procedures after you reinstall Windows XP.
• Nicolas wanted to know if spending $200-$300 on earbuds was a worthwhile pursuit if all he was listening to was digital music. The answer is yes. Unless you're using bargain basement bit rates of 128kbps or less for stereo MP3's you'll definitely hear an improvement. Robert likes his Shures and Roger is partial to Etymotic's line.
•
It's been a long time coming but we're finally giving away our HDTV from our set in a month long random drawing. The rules are simple:
• Create a video of 15 seconds or less.
• The video must be a tech question and feature the actual face of the person asking the question.
• You must be a resident of the US and at least 18 years of age. For the full legalese download the rules.
• Upload it to your YouTube page.
• If you haven't already, add DL.TV as a friend!
• Share your video with us!
• Even if you don't win we might still use your video question on a future episode of DL.TV
• And don't forget to send us an email with your full name, URL and name of the YouTube account you used, mailing address and your phone number. Put "DL.TV HDTV Giveaway" in the subject line.
• And our Wii Console number. 3866-4961-3764-6024. Send us your Miis!!!

nLite sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately, it needs .NET Framework 2.0 in order to run (which is way too big and a resource hog afaic.)

The Official Steam "Orange Box" Page:
http://www.steampowered.com/v/index.php?area=package&SubId=469
For $44.95 your basically buying Episode Two, Portal and Team Fortress 2, since most users might have HL2 and Episode One already. The Orange Box also comes with game called "Peggle Extreme" but its not shown until you actually buy it, i think its just an advertising thing.
And also Robert, your gonna get alot of mail saying that you called the Demoman a Soldier...

I put in the Wii friend code, but think someone on the other end needs to either accept or entered our codes to make a friend pairing...

I'm coincidentally going to be in NYC from Monday thru Thursday. I was heading back Wednesday, but extended my stay an additional day to spend a little time at the Digital Life expo...Hope to see Roger and Robert there!

Steven, that's correct. According to Nintendo, both people must add each other before anything can be shared between the two of them.

Roger does such a wonderful job! I am hooked on this show now. Maybe I won't be such a noob after a few weeks. Robert and Roger work so well together. It's a very enjoyable show even for a woman who has no idea at times what they are talking about. The information about the new intel processors coming out was really interesting.
