• And now for the viewer questions:
First questions is from Scott of Topeka, KS:
I recently purchased a Sharp Aquos 42" 1080i LCD TV. I finally bought a PS3. It plays Blu-Ray movies at 720p and I was wondering if there is a noticeable difference between 720p and 1080p? I'm starting to regret buying the TV and thinking about a new TV. Should I wait? Will there be something better coming along than 1080p?
Check out THIS article that Robert put together. Should help with your viewing experience.
Second question is from Mike of Houston, TX:
I would like to rip my cd's to a lossless format. I'm thinking about going with FLAC. What's the most future proof lossless audio format? What program should I use to rip and play the files? What portable media player supports the lossless audio format? Are there plug-ins that allow me to use FLAC in Windows Media Player or iTunes? THIS site will give you all the information you need about FLAC as well as the codec to download. Also check out dBpoweramp.

Great show! Its a true geeks heaven.
Being a geek is not just about being a consumer
and this show gets it that is about the things Yoda Lloyd talks about.
The chemistry between Garnett and Robert is excellent and there is enough of a difference where they wont agree on everything and keep it interesting.
The topics and various segments are excellent and really make the show.
I have shown the solar array installation to at least
30 people (we had a small office party and had a laptop to the projector) this afternoon. I had send the article to a some coworkers and everyone loved that it gave them full of details like price range and how much the bills were before and after. We were in the conference room having birthday party and a few of us got to talking about the article and decided to watch the video on the big 20 foot screen at the end and everyone stayed to watch it.
The video did a great job of bringing it all together.
People were truly invigorated by seeing this.

I am one of those who lost faith there for a while but Im back to being a regular.
We whine and bitch but rarely take the time to point out the good. I wont polish your knobs but will admit begrudgingly that I look forward to watching the show each week.

Loved the mod cases that are righteous...another good show though it seemed a little over caffeinated at times....keep it rolling...
come to the land of Oz and see that 99.9 % of all internet is capped and what crazy prices we pay.
You guys got it so lucky...

Great show, wicked case designs. Hey Microsoft, fly that guy in and have him help with the next Next Gen console design :)
What can I say about the dynamic duo that is Garnett Lee and Robert Heron, I hope to see more of these two for sure. Garnett gets better every show and Robert is just brimming with information. So really, stop the experiment and sign up Garnett already!
DLTV remains on my list of must see Vidcasts!

Good show gentlemen! I will have to agree with the other people here and say go ahead and hire Garnett Lee as DL.TV co-host! As someone previously said, he offers different viewpoints from Robert (which is a good thing btw). They both make a great team!
Robert's "You'll never go through 40 gigs" was the death knell for DL.TV for me.
We have a home network of PCs and regularly watch podcasts and surf regularly. Between this, gaming, our VoIP phone and minimal torrent use (not daily or constant downloads as Robert proclaimed), we used anywhere from 60 to 150 gigs of bandwidth in each of the last 6 months. This is a family with 2 adults and 2 children under 10. I can only imagine what a family with teenagers would use.
I really enjoy Garnett when he co-hosts, but I'm sorry, I don't feel Robert is really as in touch or as knowledgeable about tech as he likes to let on. He's easily impressed by shiny things and often goes off on tangents which, for me, just makes the show 10% useful and 90% waste of time.
Sorry, guys, I'll miss a few little things, but I won't be watching any more.

The 40 gig cap is way too low. There should be no caps and only bandwidth restrictions....What was Robert thinking when he said nobody would use 40 gb in a month?!

there is a new flac portable player from iriver called Lplayer. also supports ogg and xvid video.
Buzzword competes with Windows Live Writer, not Word.
